A new project for actor Will Smith and Japanese footballer Keisuke Honda. Together they put money into professional gamers, reported on Telegraaf.
They travel from tournament to tournament, all over the world.
Will Smith and Honda have known each other for a while. Last year they started an investment fund together.
That now puts a total of 46 million dollars in ‘gamerteam’ Gen.G with a few business people.
That wants to train new gamers with the money and reach new supporters.
Those fans have to spend money to watch the gamers play via streams and to buy game items that Gen.G. can earn money again. Billions go around in that game world.
Gen.G has its own gamers. They play in official games of seven different games.
For example, Gen.G owns the Seoul Dynasty professional team in the Overwatch League, the official competition for the Overwatch game.
The gamers are accompanied by former basketball player Chris Bosh.
